Christmas Lights Run

Christmas Lights Run is the charity event that will take you around some of the best Christmas Light Displays our city has to offer while supporting a good cause.

Not only will this charity event get you into the Christmas spirit while being active, it’ll also be doing good for families staying in local hospitals on Thursday, December 17.

When you ride or cycle (new for 2020), you’ll be helping us raise funds for new parent chairs that fold down for a better night’s sleep in our local hospitals. It’s the gift of a more comfortable local experience that will ease parents and their sick kids when staying the night in hospital.

Run or Ride, you choose the distance

This year, you’ve got the choice for two running distances (5km and 10km) and a NEW 10km bike ride for just $20 – all of which goes towards the cause!

  • 5km Run for a quick, yet rewarding push
  • 10km Run completed in just 1 hour… are you up for it?
  • 10km Run completed in 1.5 hour, for those who needs more time
  • 10km Bike Ride is a new addition in 2020. Grab your helmets!

Runners and cyclists will start and finish at Bill Patterson Oval, Limestone Park, Ipswich – from 6:30pm, December 17.

Whether you’ve chosen a 5km or 10km distance, the spirit of Christmas (and our Fit4Life coaches) will keep you motivated throughout your journey past the best Christmas Light Displays our city has to offer.

Christmas Lights RunMagical Christmas Light Displays will shine the streets of our mystery route (which will be announced the night before the event- stay tuned)!

Participants are also encouraged to wear their best Christmas outfits with lights that will bright up the whole road even more.

“There’s no better way to get your sweat on this festive season then by running or cycling past our city’s best Christmas Light Displays.

“We’re ending the year on a bright note by lighting up the streets and the patient experience in Hospitals.” – Kayley Taaffe, Event Coordinator
